The teams in our top five poll for the Vermont Lake Division have remained the same. But they certainly did play a bit of musical chairs this week. No team stayed in the same position.
Stowe is our new No. 1. At 6-2-1, the team hasn’t lost since Dec. 11. Since then, they are 5-0-1, with wins this past week over Harwood Union, 7-1, and Milton, 7-2. Chad Haggerty continue to leads the way and is well into the double digits with number of goals scored.
Mount Mansfield, our No. 1 team last week, moves down a slot because of its loss to Hartford. It was a 3-2 setback at home, preceded by a 4-3 win over a tough Northfield squad, also at home.
Woodstock Union is another team that’s hot. They have won four straight heading into this week and stand at 7-3-1. The last two wins were a 5-1 decision over U-32 and a 5-3 triumph over St. Johnsbury. In the last four games, Woodstock has outscored its foes, 21-6.
Northfield and Milton round out our top five, respectively. Northfield is at 6-3-0. The team lost to Mount Mansfield and then came back to crush Lyndon Institute, with Jackson Tucker surpassing the 200-point barrier.
Milton, meanwhile, is a half-game behind Northfield at 6-4-0 after it beat Burlington and then lost to Stowe.
