In 1972, two lifetime high school hockey fans started a weekly broadcast of Greater Boston high school games on WBOS-FM (92.9). The duo - Lance LoFaro and Darby Yaeger - called the nightly broadcasts "Hockey Night in Boston". As of late, HNIBnews - over 40 years running - has kept the scholastic hockey world on its feet with its widely-read website HNIBnews.com. In addition to HNIBnews, Hockey Night in Boston runs MassHSHockey.com, and also hosts summer tournaments showcasing the talents of scholastic hockey.

The #1 Hartford Hurricanes were probably not expecting a tough game when they traveled to sleepy Missisquoi Valley Union in Northern Vermont to face the (3-10) Thunderbirds, but a heroic 49-save performance from goalie Ethan Stefaniak shut down the normally unstoppable Hartford goal machine.  A power play goal with 4 minutes remaining finally finished off MVU.  Unbeaten Hartford has just three games remaining and will face U-32 on February 19.

With solid wins over Burlington and Brattleboro, Milton holds on to the #2 spot.

#3 U-32 has won eight in a row and knocked Burr & Burton off the table with a 5-4 win.

Harwood and Woodstock sneak into the rankings as Lyndon, Burr & Burton and Mount Mansfield Union sputter.
