Vermont HS Highlights: Stowe, Middlebury Split Home-and-Home Series

Division One

* Defense ruled in a scoreless tie between Essex and BFA/St. Albans. Hornets’ goalie Sam Foster made 13 saves; the Bobwhites’ Tyler Laroche matched with 19.

* Stowe and Middlebury split a weekend home-and-home set. Devon Kearns, Hale Hescock and Andy Giorgio each scored in Middlebury’s 3-1 win while Stowe got third-period goals from Max Carr and Sam Schoepke 14 saves by Jack Seivwright in its 4-2 win.

* Rutland held off Spaulding, 3-2, behind goals from Toby Jakubowki, Ethan Course and Ben Simpson. Cam Gosselin and Evan Parent scored for Spaulding.

Division Two

* U-32 edged Milton, 3-1, sparked by Brady Hill’s shorty in the first period. Owen Guthrie and Sina Fallahi also scored in support of Kolby Tanner’s 31 saves.

* Hartford upset Mount Mansfield, 4-0, behind Ross McFate’s 30 saves. Jacob Dwinnell scored twice and Colston Allen and Jacob Derosier scored a goal apiece.

* Harwood whitewashed Northfield, 5-0, behind Sean Russell’s 31 saves. Jake Wells (2 goals), Ollie Hammond, Tyson Sylvia and Jonathan O’Brien supplied the offense.

* Milton shut out St. Johnsbury, 2-0, behind Jack Ehler’s 25 saves. Josh McQuinn and Trevor Gaudette scored for the Yellowjackets

He is the 2016 recipient of the North Shore Lifetime Commitment From the Community award presented by Moynihan Lumber and is a 2017 inductee into the Newburyport High School Wall of Fame.
