Vermont Highlights: BFA/St. Albans celebrates 50th season with a win

Division One

* BFA/St. Albans celebrated the program’s 50th season with a 4-2 win against Stowe. Matt Merrill, Mason Yandow, Ben Pudvah and Sean Beauregard had the Bobwhites’ goals. Alex Dilgner and Max Carr scored for Stowe.

* Jonah Janaro had two goals and an assist to power Essex past South Burlington, 4-1. Grady Cram and Max Line also scored for the Hornets and Sam Foster posted 25 saves. Reid LeClair scored for South Burlington.

* Ethan Coarse, Dillon Moore and Ben Simpson scored, Noah Crossman had two assists and Shailer Evans had 21 saves as Rutland held off Champlain Valley. Jake Schaefer and Charlie Averill scored for CVU.

Division Two

* Woodstock overcame a 41-save gem by Brattleboro’s Auston Wood to forge a 2-2 tie on third-period goals by Lucas Piconi and Andrew Gubbins. Jack Pattision and Will Taggard gave Brattleboro a 2-0 lead.

* Sophomore Will Hauf struck for a hat trick as Mount Mansfield rolled over U-32, 7-3, securing the Cougars’ third straight 10-win season.

* Hartford tripped up St. Johnsbury, 4-2. Sophomore Jacob Dwinell scored the GWG early in the third period and senior Jacob Derosier scored an empty netter with 40 seconds to play.
