Vermont was able to get in its boys hockey state championships right before most of the world sporting events shut down due to the potential spreading of coronavirus.
BFA-St. Albans scored the big win with a victory over Stowe in the Division 1 state finals. BFA had trailed Essex most of the year here, but avoided the team in the finals thanks to Stowe’s thrilling upset of the Hornets.
Rice had another strong year, bowing to the eventual state champions in the semifinals.
Middlebury, meanwhile, made the quarterfinals but lost to Rice.
