Only one game survived Saturday’s weather but its outcome impacted the top of the Vermont Top 5 poll.
Undefeated No. 1 Woodstock took down Mt. Mansfield in OT, 3-2, on Saturday to claim the top spot. Next up for the Wasps are home dates against Brattleboro and North Country.
As a result of that loss, No. 2 Mt. Mansfield drops a spot. The Cougars will look to rebound when they tangle with D1 Stowe at home on Monday, then head to Burlington on Saturday.
No. 3 Lyndon Institute climbs two spots after its solid 5-3 win against Colchester. It’s a three-game week for the Vikings, who bracket Wednesday’s home test against St. Johnsbury with trips to North County on Monday and Hartford on Saturday.
The loss to Lyndon knocks No. 4 Colchester down a peg. The Lakers will look to bounce back against Harwood and Milton.
No. 5 St. Johnsbury joins the poll on the strength of a three-game winning streak, including a solid 6-2 decision of Burlington. SJ looks to keep it going against Lyndon and Missisquoi this week.
