Rhode Island Top 10: Solid week for #2 Smithfield

No. 1 LaSalle showed no signs of slowing down. It breezed past Prout, 5-0, and Bishop Hendricken, 6-1. 

No. 2 Smithfield had a solid week with wins over Cumberland (2-0) and Moses Brown, 3-2.

No. 3 Barrington is still the team to beat in Division 2 — but sat idle this past week.

No. 4 Hendricken topped Cumberland, 4-2, and tied Moses Brown before falling to the top-ranked team, LaSalle.

No. 5 Mount St. Charles went up against Mass. powerhouse Malden Catholic and fell, 5-0.

No. 6 Coventry blanked North Smithfield, 3-0, and tied East Providence/Lincoln, 3-3.

No. 7 RMR dropped North Kingstown, 5-1, and Ponaganset, 3-1.

No. 8 Moses Brown tied up Hendricken, 3-3, and was edged by Smithfield, 3-2.

No. 9 Pilgrim jumps into the Top 10 Poll, winners of four straight. The big one in there was a 4-1 victory over Scituate/Woonsocket, knocking them out of the poll.

No. 10 East Providence/Lincoln tied up Coventry, the team on top of the division.
