The top Division 1 teams in our poll had some battles this week.Who rose to the top? The team that put its legendary coach one win away from career win No. 1,000.

No. 1 Mt. St. Charles had a lot of reasons to be happy this week. It beat then No. 1 Smithfield, 6-3, as coach Bill Belisle picked up his 999th win.

No. 2 LaSalle continued its winning ways by nipping Hendricken, 2-1.  No. 3 Smithfield fell to Mt. St. Charles, 6-3, but beat Bishop Hendricken, 4-3, and Prout, 5-0.

No. 4 Bishop Hendricken fell to Smithfield, 4-3, before crushing Cumberland, 11-0. No.5 Barrington beat RMR, 5-3, and North Kingstown, 4-2, and has won five out of six.

No. 6 Toll Gate tied PSW, 3-3, and topped East Greenwich, 9-1. No. 7 Coventry handled South Kingstown, 6-5 and finished with a 5-5 draw against Ponaganset in a battle of Top 10 teams.

No. 8 RMR lost to Barrington, 5-3, and took care of South Kingstown, 5-1. No. 9 Ponaganset tied Coventry, 5-5, in its only match of this past week.

No. 10 Portsmouth jumps into the poll this week with a 2-0 win over East Providence/Lincoln.
