Last week saw a whole lot of shakeup at the top of the HNIB News Rhode Island HS poll. Each of the top five spots in our poll this week changed.
It starts with LaSalle Academy, which beat Bishop Hendricken, 4-3, and climbed to the top of our poll.
HNIB-Ad-for-MassHShockey_2016Mt. St. Charles beat Smithfield, 4-2, and moved up to No. 2. LaSalle and Mount still have to play two more times in the regular season.
Smithfield also climbed a couple of spots after it beat Bishop Hendricken. It did lose to Mt. St. Charles, 4-2, which keeps it at No. 3.
Bishop Hendricken, because of its two losses this past week (to Smithfield, 5-2, and LaSalle, 4-3), drops three spots to No. 4.
Burrillville got league win No. 10 as it beat North Kingstown, 5-2. And then No. 11 in a 9-2 win over Coventry.
Prout climbs three spots after it beat North Smithfield, 4-3, in OT, and fell to Barrington, 2-1. North Smithfield fell to Prout, 4-3, in overtime and then came back to beat Toll Gate, 4-1.
At Nos. 8 and 9, East Greenwich and Rogers/Middletown/Rocky Hill did not play this past week.
Barrington had one game, beating Prout, 2-1, and sneaking back into the rankings.
