Division 3 has been reinstated this winter in Rhode Island. A total of seven programs will be in the league, including Coventry, South Kingstown and Narragansett coming down from Division 2.

Coach: Ray Lamont

To achieve success the Oakers will need to play an up-tempo style and be responsible in the defensive zone, according to coach Lamont.

Assistant captains Michael Laroche (senior) and Ben Crossman (junior), will lead the attack along with junior Andrew Laroche.

The defense has captain Braden Morris (senior), Domenic Amitrano (senior), Adam Savastano (junior) and Kody Fretts (sophomore) back in the fold. Junior Sammy Morris is a returning netminder.

Three freshmen – Collin King, Nick Andersen and Owen Sanders – hope to contribute.

Coach: Ryan Meade

The Gulls return a host of players and expect to be at the top of the league if they can limit turnovers in the neutral and defensive zones and stay out of the penalty box.

Depth up front is culled from seniors Adam Leander, Coco Keegan, Ben Avedisian, Rob McHugh and Sean O’Brien, and juniors Jacob Correira, Sean Lyons and JD Abbott.

Seniors Matt Beaudry and juniors Ryan Cormier and Jack Abrams will handle things defensively.

Coach Meade has the luxury of three returning goaltenders in junior Phil Brodeur and sophomores Mason Campbell and Ryan Moricas.

Coach: Mike Caramante

Numbers are up at Ponaganset, where coach Caramante feels he has a team that should grow as the season goes, with many new faces in the lineup.

Senior captain Zac Poirier and assistant captain Jacob Soares head up a returning group that also sees juniors Gunnar Baumann, Cameron Kenny, Gerald Kent and Cam Wenerstrom, and sophomores Jack Rebello, Riley Nelson, Mason Caramante, Liam Dixon and Nicholas Flori.

Senior Nicholas Hooper, junior Stephen Veresko and sophomores Thomas Mallette, Riley Sirois and William Cavanagh make up the defense. Juniors James Cavanagh and Austin Sirois are back in goal.

Coach: Justin Lake

The Knight-Wizards won the D3 title in 2020 and look forward to defending that crown with the division back for this year.

A leader up front will be senior captain Matthew Dennison, the D3 championship MVP back in 2020. Look for sophomores Keegan Gormley and Tyler Lacombe to have key roles.

Defensive stalwarts are Harrison Braica and Sam Sonnenschein. Veteran senior netminder Kevin MacDonald will be a brick wall in the cage.

** Also in Division 3 this year are South Kingstown, Johnston and Mt. Hope.
