Rhode Island HS Highlights: Smithfield Doubles Up Burrillville

Bishop Hendricken 3, LaSalle Academy 2

LaSalle took a first-period lead, but Hendricken stormed back with three middle-period goals. That was the difference in this battle for Ocean State supremacy. Matt Dumond had two goals for the winners, Rocco Biafore added the other. Ethan Cordeiro and Eric Markey had goals for LaSalle. Hendricken goalie Patrick Gribbin had 26 saves.

Pilgrim 6, Narragansett/Chariho 3

Jack Clements scored twice for the Patriots. Matt Pacheco and Dylan Gallagher each chipped in a goal and two assists. Chris Quirk had three assists for the winners. Shaun Quirk, Adam Leander and Coco Keegan had goals for the losers.

Smithfield 4, Burrillville 2

Smithfield built a 4-0 lead and held on. Anthony Lombardi (two assists), Joe Catarina, Ben Thibeault and Rafael Negron had the goals. Alex Carlow and Cameron Menard scored the goals for Burrillville.

Pilgrim 3, West Warwick/Exeter/West Greenwich 2

Sean Noel scored the game-winner on a feed from Chris Quirk in the win. Noel had two goals, and Dylan Gallagher had the other. Matthew Henault and Ethan Laramee scored goals for West Warwick/Exeter/West Greenwich

Rogers/Middletown

Johnston/North Providence/Tiverton 4, Pilgrim 3

Panthers junior forward Seth Jacyssin took a feed from sophomore Jeremy Gervais and scored the game-winner. Pilgrim’s Chris Quirk took passes from Matt Pacheco and Sean Noel and scored. Collin Driscoll also scored for Pilgrim. Dylan Gallagher scored as well. J/NP/T’s Christian Campbell (two) and Zach Bernier had goals as well.

RMR 4, Portsmouth 2

Nate Bellagamba and Riley Cranson each scored two goals for RMR. JC Lopes, Ben Lyman, Caleb Leys, Dylan Stahl and Bellagamba had assists. Max Dooley and Niklas Pedersen scored for Portsmouth, and Connor Little and Pedersen each had an assist.
