Rhode Island HS Highlights: Burrillville Grabs Big Win; MSC Upends LaSalle

Smithfield 3, Prout 1

Smithfield’s Connor Derderian and Pearse McCullough goals in the second and third periods broke a 1-1 tie. Ben Thibeault added a goal and an assist for the winners. Kyle Hart scored for Prout.

Moses Brown/East Providence/Tolman 7, Cranston 3

Corey Olson had a hat trick, Tyler King had two goals and Dominick Froio added a goal and three assists for the winners. Aidan Darlington had a goal and assist for Moses Brown. Dylan Demers had two goals, and Cameron Koretsky added the other for Cranston. Mathew Corrente made 44 saves in the loss.

Pilgrim 9, Narragansett/Chariho 1

Jack Clements had a hat trick, Sean Noel added two goals and Matt Pacheco, Charlie Dale, Collin Driscoll (two assists) and Chris Quirk scored. Coco Keegan scored for Narragansett/Chariho. Dylan Gallagher added two assists for the winners.

Ponaganset 8, Toll Gate 1

Ponaganset had hat tricks from Nathan Watts and Matt Carlson and a two-goal night from Ryan Watts. Jacob Lincourt and Edmund Marceau had four assists, and Ryan Watts and Josh Soares each added two assists. Max Savaria had the Toll Gate goal.

Johnston/North Providence/Tiverton 3, West Warwick/Exeter/West Greenwich 2

Zach Morin, Ryan DiLorenzo and Noah St. Denis helped Johnston/NP/Tiverton overcome a 2-0 deficit with goals. Liam Hogan and Rocco Socoloano had the goals for WW/E/WG. Goalie Ethan Arruda made 27 saves for the win.

Burrillville 4, Bishop Hendricken 3

Ryan Boutiette’s second goal of the night in overtime proved to be the game-winner. Boutiette and Alex Carlow scored 35 seconds to put the Broncos ahead, 2-0. Domenic Savastano had the other goal for the winners. Jax Zaroogian, Michael Boscia and Jacob Tivey scored for Hendricken. Burrillville goalie Dylan Nault had 30 saves.

Barrington 5, Moses Brown/East Providence/Tolman 1

Sam Faulkner had two goals, and Matt Spears (three) and Brenen Gazeryan (two) were helpful with assists in the win. Stephen Amaral had 31 saves for the victory. Jacob Andreozzi, Charles Ames and Jackson Gorman also had goals. Aidan Darlington scored for Moses Brown.

South Kingstown 6, Coventry 6

Coventry had a huge comeback, scoring five goals over the final two periods after falling behind, 6-1. Jacob Organ led the way with two goals. Eli Benjamin, Colin Dottor, Chase Loughlin and Christopher Leander (two assists) added goals for Coventry. South Kingstown had goals from Colin Leclerc, Evan Adams (three assists), Bennett Souza, Andy Sprague, Zach Hupf and Colin O’Grady had goals.

Mount St. Charles Academy 4, LaSalle Academy 3

The Mounties had goals from Alex Pratt (two), Bailey Thibeault and Matthew Mahoney. Trey Bourque added two assists. Zenas Kennedy, John Devine and Ethan Cordeiro had goals for LaSalle. Ryan Forget made 28 saves in the win for the Mounties.

Pilgrim 6, West Warwick/Exeter/West Greenwich 2

AJ Sherlock led the way with two goals, and Jack Clements, Matt Pacheco, Collin Driscoll and Sean Noel added goals. Ethan Jedson and Kyle Nicolas scored for WW/E/WG.

LaSalle Academy 5, Prout 0

Brayden Edwards and Austin Tasca had two goals apiece and Ethan Cordeiro added the other. Kevin Kanaczet, Colin Chapman and Cordeiro each had two assists.
