The Norton High boys hockey team will be hosting an event honoring First Responders for the first time in their program’s history this weekend when they face off against Westwood.

The game will be Saturday January 28th at the Foxboro Sports Center at 2:30 pm and both teams will show their support for first responders.

Once each team completes its 7-minute warmup, both the Norton and Westwood varsity hockey teams will take the ice along with players from the Norton Middle School with an American flag, a blue line flag and a red line flag and will take a lap around the ice and stick tap to First Responders and thank them for all that they do.

Following that, a captain from each team will come to center ice for a ceremonial puck drop where Norton Police Chief Brian Clark and Westwood Police Chief Jeff Silva will do the honors.

To conclude the pre-game festivities, there will be a special playing of the National Anthem on the bagpipes performed by Norton Police Sergeant Jake Dennett.
