Gary Demopoulos has been covering prep school hockey for the HNIB News for over 30 years, and has been the editor of the HNIB News since 2005. A former sportswriter and news editor at the Woburn (MA) Daily Times Chronicle, he has been the HNIB News' key reporter for Mens Prep School hockey since 1988, as well as womens hockey, both at the prep school and high school levels. for almost 20 years. Gary also helps organize and oversee HNIB's many summer tournaments and festivals for scholastic players.

Fully expecting to challenging for both the Greater Middlesex Conference and Egan Conference titles, the Falcons hope to stay healthy throughout the campaign.

Coach Ryan Carter should have a decent offensive attack with the return of seniors Michael McElwain (16 pts) and Connor Kaczmarek (13 pts), junior Jason Pliszak (189 pts) and sophomore Christian Cuccia (12 goals).

Senior Chris Chiccariello and junior Thomas Freda are defensive cornerstones. Senior goalie Nick Adams fashioned a 2.57 gaa last season for the Falcons.


A solid nucleus returns for the Falcons, who look to have a successful season.

Forward leaders for coach Gerard Minter are seniors Vincent Foresta (23 pts), Zachary Orefice (16 pts) and Christian Hermann, and  junior John Bono (15pts). Ready to battle for time up front are freshmen Nicholas Ctorides, Nickolas Izzo and Nicholas Kozlosky.

On the blue line, freshmen Vincent Ambile, Graham Kane and Justin Tanjutco will join returners Sean Fitzgerald (senior), Kyle Conover (junior) and Aidan Goetz (sophomore).


Hoping to be in the mix in the Greater Middlesex Conference is Woodbridge Township.

Two juniors – Logan Ponik and Chris Fergueson, and two sophomores – Hubert Polchlopek and Dylan Godsil – will be offensive catalysts for coach Joe Rotella.

On defense, seniors Nate Manente and Matt Fiore and junior Garrett Ludwig will hold down the fort.

In goal, junior Colin Snyder returns, to be joined by new freshman Hunter Galgani.


Looking to develop some of its younger guys this winter, Edison Township also is hoping for some improvement from its returning varsity performers.

Senior Jacob Devito (14 pts) and junior Vincent Ciampi (17 pts) are offensive leaders, joined by seniors James Tutalo and Chris Decker. Sophomore Andrew DaSilva hopes for a role.

Juniors Vincent Bella and Pat Decker are blue line cornerstones for coach Vincent Mondano. Sophomore Jacob Engel is in the mix as well.



The focus this winter for the Crusaders is easy: Just keep things simple. They will be an Egan Conference participant again, along with St. Joseph Metuchen.

Leading forwards for coach Karl Bonawitz will be senior Shaye Lippincott, sophomore Alex Smith and sophomore Hugh Leahy.

Two seniors who should log time on the Bishop Eustace blue line are Shane Richards and Maison Houser.
