Defending champion No. 1 Belmont/Gilford is off to an incendiary start. The Bulldogs have outscored their first three opponents by a cumulative 21-8 count and most recently doubled up John Stark/Hopkinton, 6-3. Dylan Treamer and Harrison Parent have already combined for nine goals and a couple of hat tricks.

No. 2 Berlin/Gorham, last year’s other finalist, has also roared out of the gate by belting Sanborn and ConVal by a combined score of 14-1. Justin Vien has clicked for hat tricks in each of the Mountaineers’ first two games.

Following a wild 5-5 season-opening tie against Sanborn, No. 3 Kennett rebounded with a shutout win against ConVal behind John Biggio’s 12 saves.

No. 4 John Stark/Hopkinton opened the year with a 4-2 win against Division 2 Portsmouth/Newmarket before falling to Belmont/Gilford.

In addition tying Kennett, No. 5 Sanborn also owns a win against Moultonborough/Inter-Lakes. Liam Dolan enjoyed a five-point night (2 goals, 3 assists) against Kennett.
