No. 1 Belmont-Gilford continues to impress after going 2-0 for the week and remaining undefeated. They shut out Kearsarge-Plymouth, 4-0 and then cruised past John Stark-Hopkinton-Hillsboro-Deering, 9-3. They’ll get a chance to rest up before taking on Sanborn-Epping on Saturday.
New No. 2 Pembroke-Campbell accomplished something not many teams have done in recent years, they beat Berlin-Gorham. The 4-2 win over the Mountaineers marked their third win in a row and fifth win overall. They’ll be looking to keep the streak going in this three-game week with Lebanon-Stevens-Mt Royal, Kearsarge-Plymouth and John Stark-Hopkinton-Hillsboro-Deering.
No. 3 Berlin-Gorham found themselves in unfamiliar territory when they lost their second game of the year, 4-2 to Pembroke-Campbell. They’ve still given up the least amount of goals in Division 3 and they’re not going anywhere. Sanborn-Epping is next on the docket for the Mountaineers followed by Hollis-Brookline/Derryfield.
A 7-3 loss to Kingswood drops No. 4 Hollis-Brookline/Derryfield one spot this week. On Saturday they’ll host a Berlin-Gorham team that is looking to get on track. HBD will need to be ready.
No. 5 Kennett squeaked out a 2-1 win over Kearsarge-Plymouth in their only action of the week. On Saturday, the Eagles will host winless Lebanon-Stevens-Mt Royal in an effort to stay hot.
No. 6 Kingswood impressed this week winning both of their games by a total of 15-4. The Knights beat HBD 7-3 and then came back and put up eight in an 8-1 win over Lebanon-Stevens-Mt Royal. Can they keep it going as they return to their new barn and take on John Stark/H/H/D and Kearsarge-Plymouth?
