There’s no way around this: By most accounts, defending State Champion No. 1 Berlin/Gorham (14-2-1) is wearing an extra-large target this season. Coach Mike Poulin will rely on a talented core group to lead the way. For the Mountaineers.
No. 2 Pembroke/Campbell (5-2-0) heads into the season with a luxury most programs don’t have — a pair of seasoned goaltenders.
No. 3 Hollis-Brookline/Derryfield (5-2-1) will lean on a stout defense while looking for increased production from up and coming players.
No. 4 Lebanon-Stevens/Mt. Royal (9-4-1) is looking forward to a return to normalcy after last year’s disruptions and will count on goalie Toby Cromwell to lead the way.
It’s a year of transition for No. 5 Kennett (8-3-1) The division’s only stand-alone will look to 15 new freshmen to make an impact.
Just a hunch here as No. 6 Sanborn-Epping (2-6-1) heads into the season with a roster full of underclassmen and a dozen veterans.
