New Hampshire HS Highlights: Hanover Edges Pinkerton In Battle Of D1 Heavies

DIVISION ONE

Matt Gardner
Hanover

* State Champion Hanover dealt Pinkerton its first loss, 3-2, behind goals from Charlie Plotter, Cam Woods and Matt Gardner.

* Londonderry relied on its power play to take down Bishop Brady, 4-1. Zac Rheault delivered two man-up tallies and assisted on Anthony Federico’s PPG. Freshman goalie Jake Holdsworth had 19 saves in his first career start.

DIVISION TWO

Ben Brown
Keene

* Griffin Cook (2 goals, 2 assists) powered Goffstown past Alvirne/Milford, 6-1. Colby Gamache added a goal an assist and Madeline Sage had 18 saves for the win. Levi Griffin scored for the Admirals.

* Ben Brown (assist), Dmitri Seger (assist), Joseph Walsh (assist) and Jerred Tattersall paced a balanced attack for Keene in its 4-0 win against Merrimack. Jacob Russell amassed 18 saves for his first career shutout. Tattersall now has 17 goals for the Blackbirds.

Freddie Holmes
Portsmouth/Newmarket

* David Blodgett’s goal at 2:28 of OT lifted Portsmouth/Newmarket past Winnacunnet, 2-1. Freddie Holmes of PN and Dan Giacalone of Winnacunnet matched regulation goals.

Jameson Goodridge
Dover

* Undefeated Dover pulled away from Spaulding, 4-0, behind Jameson Goodridge’s two goals and an assist. Asa Forbes added a goal and two assists.

DIVISION THREE

* Chris Boucher had a pair of goals to lead Monadnock/Fall Mountain past Berlin/Gorham.

Kevin Doyle joined the HNIB team in 1990 and is a Senior Writer and Director of the Northern New England and Mass/R.I. High School Division camps. He holds degrees from Merrimack College and Boston University and won multiple NEPA and NEAP awards during his tenure as Sports Editor of The Daily News of Newburyport and News Editor of The Amesbury News. He is the 2016 recipient of the North Shore Lifetime Commitment From the Community award presented by Moynihan Lumber and is a 2017 inductee into the Newburyport High School Wall of Fame.
