The fact No.1 John Stark Hopkinton had its five-shutout streak broken in Saturday’s 4-1 win against No. 8 Kennett stands as big news. The General Hawks goal differential now stands at an absurd 60-5. They go dark for nine days before kicking off a four-game week against Laconia/Winnisquam on Jan. 28.

No. 2 Monadnock/Fall Mountain doubled up Moultonborough/Inter-Lakes Saturday, 8-4, after Wednesday’s 7-1 rout of Kearsage/Plymouth. The MFM offense is clicking at 5.4 gpg. Road trips to Belmont/Gilford and ConVal/Conant are on the docket this week.

No. 3 Berlin/Gorham’s one-goal loss to D2 Alvirne/Milford was its second in three games. The Mountaineers meet D2 Lebanon/Stevens and No. 6 Pembroke/Campbell this week.

Make that six straight wins for new No. 4 Belmont/Gilford, capped by Saturday’s 5-0 shutout of Pembroke/Campbell. BG hosts MFM and visits Kearsage/Plymouth this week.

No. 5 Moultonborough/Inter-Lakes stopped Sanborn for its only win. Laconia/Winnisquam and No. 7 Hollis/Brookline-Derryfield are on tap this week.
