New Hampshire D3 Semifinals: No. 1 JSH, No. 2 MFM Advance To Title Game

SEMIFINALS

At Plymouth State University

No. 1 John Stark/Hopkinton (19-1-0) will be aiming for a three-game season sweep of No. 2 Monadnock/Fall Mountain in Saturday’s D3 title game at SNHU Arena (12:15 pm). John Stark/Hopkinton is seeking its third D3 title while Monadnock is chasing it second crown.

No. 2 Monadnock/Fall Mountain 3, No. 3 Belmont/Gilford 2

The Huskies staved off a determined Belmont/Gilford effort to get their third shot at JSH. Justin Joslyn’s second goal late in the second period was the difference. Lincoln Blodgett (goal, 2 assists) also had a big night for MFM in support of Isaac Jasinski’s 11-save performance.

Cam Jarvi scored both Belmont/Gilford goals and Colin McGreevy turned back 25 shots. Belmont/Gilford finishes 14-6-0.

No. 1 John Stark/Hopkinton 4, No. 4 Berlin 2

The General Hawks opened lead of 3-0 and 4-1 before shifting into maintenance mode to advance. JSH’s offensive balance was on display as Benny Madden, Paul Molnar, Nolan Sauer (assist) and Brett Patnode (assist) all scored. Tyler Scordo finished with 22 saves.

Tyler Rousseau accounted for both Berlin goals and Trent Labrecque had 17 saves. The Mountaineers finish 13-7-0.

He is the 2016 recipient of the North Shore Lifetime Commitment From the Community award presented by Moynihan Lumber and is a 2017 inductee into the Newburyport High School Wall of Fame.
