New Hampshire Boys Tournament Pairings: Pinkerton, St. Thomas Aquinas, John Stark/Hopkinton Are #1 Seeds

The 2019 New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) hockey tournaments get under way Wednesday with first-round action in Division One and Division Two.

Twenty-eight teams – 11 in Division One, nine in Division Two and eight in Division Three – are competing to advance to the State Championship games on Saturday, March 9 at SNHU Arena in Manchester.

The No. 1 seeds are Pinkerton (D1), St. Thomas Aquinas (D2) and John Stark/Hopkinton (D3). Pinkerton claimed its lone D1 crown in 2012 while defending D3 champion John Stark/Hopkinton also won the 2013 title. St. Thomas Aquinas is seeking its first-ever State crown.

Kevin Doyle joined the HNIB team in 1990 and is a Senior Writer and Director of the Northern New England and Mass/R.I. High School Division camps. An award-winning veteran editor/writer of 35 years experience in the print and digital mediums, he has conceptualized, edited and produced original content and coordinated production for local and global publications and their websites. He holds degrees from Merrimack College and Boston University and won multiple NEPA and NEAP awards during his tenure as Sports Editor of The Daily News of Newburyport and News Editor of The Amesbury News. He is the 2016 recipient of the North Shore Lifetime Commitment From the Community award presented by Moynihan Lumber and is a 2017 inductee into the Newburyport High School Wall of Fame.
