No. 9 Lebanon 3, No. 8 Oyster River 1

The Raiders advanced thanks in large part to the play of senior goalie Joseph Grout, who yield a goal to OR captain CJ Jerry in the first two minutes, then sealed the net the rest of the way in a 24-save outing.

 

Lebanon sophomore Callaghan Garland twice beat OR goalie Mike Doyon (20 saves) in the first period and the score remained stuck at 2-1 until the visitors tacked on an empty-netter. Oyster River finished 8-9-1.

 

Lebanon moves on to Saturday’s date at top-seeded undefeated two-time defending State Champion Bedford  (4).

 

 

No. 7 Merrimack 6, No. 10 Kingswood 1

Last year’s State finalist popped in three power play goals and cruised into the quarterfinals thanks to a hat trick from Mark Feeney and a 17-save performance by keeper Devin Gillis.

Jason Fortin, Shane Foye and Tucker Twardosky had the Tomahawks’ other goals while Austin Chasse had a shorty for Kingswood, which finished 7-12-0.

 

Merrimack takes on No. 2 Dover in Saturday’s quarterfinal round (4).
