– 13th-seeded Archbishop Williams got a hat trick from freshman Caroline Batchelder, the third goal coming in double overtime, as the Cougars stunned #4 Pembroke, 3-2, in a Division 2 Round of 16 game. Pembroke entered the game with a 10-game winning streak. Batchelder scored a goal in each of the first two periods to give ABW a 2-0 but the Titans stormed back to tie in the third period on goals by Mary Quatrale and Jen Birolini. Archbishop Williams will now play the winner of the Barnstable-Natick contest.

Mia Ryder Shrewsbury

– In Division 1, sixth-seeded Shrewsbury rolled to a 5-1 win over Stoneham-Wilmington to advance to the quarterfinal round. Taylor Breen scored twice to lead the Colonials’ attack. Other goal scorers were Kaci Ryder, Katie Vona and Mia Ryder. Shrewsbury now awaits the winner of the Notre Dame – Pope Francis matchup.

** D1 top seed Austin Prep advanced to the quarterfinals as well with a 6-0 win over Winthrop. Story coming.
