MIAA Girls D1 First Round: Shrewsbury Knocks Off #2 Duxbury

* #15 Shrewsbury chalked up the biggest win of the post-season, rallying in the third period for a 3-2 win to eliminate second-seeded Duxbury, which entered the game unbeaten at 19-0-2. Olivia Cwalinski scored the tying goal for the Colonials, and Delaney Couture notched the game-winner, her second goal of the day. Grace High and Delaney Williams had goals for the Dragons. Shrewsbury will face Central/West league rival Longmeadow in the quarterfinal round.

* Megan Patterson scored a pair of goals and Cassi Ronan had the other as Franklin moved on to the quarterfinal round with a 3-0 win over two-time defending state champion Woburn. Gabby Colace pitched the shutout in goal for the Panthers, who move on to face Andover. Woburn finishes up at 12-7-3.

* An overtime goal by Delia Lee gave #8 Braintree a hard-fought 3-2 win over #9 Boston Latin. Lee also had an earlier goal, as did Ally Decoste for the Wamps, Maggie Young had both goals for the Wolfpack, who end up at 16-4-4.
