Hopkinton is state-final bound after an impressive showing against Walpole Sunday night at Loring Arena. After getting down 1-0 early in the first, the #8 seeded Hillers scored five unanswered goals to defeat the Timberwolves, 5-1.

The star of the show was senior captain Pavit Mehra who put on an absolute clinic in the second period scoring four goals in an 11-minute span to lead his team to victory. Included were both a shorthanded goal and a power play strike for Mehra, who now has 39 goals on the season

After Grady Murphy staked Walpole to a 1-0 lead in the first period, Hopkinton freshman Cam MacPherson tied in up for the Hillers. Jack Lang was outstanding in net.

Hopkinton and Canton will square-off in the MIAA Division 2 state final Sunday at TD Garden (11 AM).
