– A quick start was all #1 seed St. John’s Prep needed as it opened play in the Round of 32. The Eagles grabbed a quick 2-0 lead on goals by Christian Rosa and Johnny Tighe en route to a 3-1 win over King Philip. Rosa added a second goal later in the contest. The Eagles now face Winchester in a Round of 16 matchup on Monday night.
– Owen Flynn, Garrett Coughlin and Nick Fasano each had a goal and assist to power #9 seed Braintree to a 5-1 win over fellow Bay State Conference member Framingham. Kyle Hutchinson and Jack Woods had goals as well. The Wamps move on to face #8 Pope Francis in the next round.
– A late third period goal by Jackie Murphy was the difference in BC High’s 3-2 win over Milton in an evenly-matched battle. James Marshall scored a pair of goals for the Eagles. Joe Pender and Owen McHugh had goals for the Wildcats, who finish at 14-8-0.
– Pope Francis scored three goals in each of the first two periods and cruised to a 6-1 win over Waltham CJ Watroba scored twice for the Cardinals, while Joe DeMichele, Nick Petkovich, Jack Moltenbrey and Colin Foyle each had a goal.
