The 2024 MIAA Boys Division 1 Tournament kicks off Monday with a preliminary game when #33 Lexington (9-9-2) takes on #32 Lincoln-Sudbury (5-15-0).

Game time is 4:40pm at the New England Sports Center. Here is a look at the two clubs:


The Minutemen won their final two games to become tourney eligible and the play-in game against Lincoln-Sudbury.

“Our guys compete hard for each other,” said Lexington coach Mike Doran. “We leaned heavily on our senior class early but have been fortunate to see the work of the underclassmen pay off with more production and consistency. Our entire roster has to play their best hockey of the season.”

Seniors Dorian Hu, Andy Yang and Nolan Kingsbury are the key components up front, along with just Rob Semanchick.

Skating in front of senior netminder Luke Dinsmore are seniors John Donaghy and Casimir Oliver, sophomores Caleb Fehm and Vasili Splagounias and freshman Ben Loucks.

A tie with St. John’s (S) in the final regular season game got the Warriors into the post-season.

Offensively, first-year head coach David Marinovsky will turn to Johnny Aliferis, Dante Venuto and Rex Friedholm.

The team’s two captains reside on the blue line in Matt Mahoney and Tommy Kinzfogl. Jesse Rich could get the call in goal.
