MIAA Boys D2 South Semifinals: Canton, Westwood Advance

* Top-seeded Canton rolled along, advancing to the D2 South final with a 6-1 win over Norwood. The Bulldogs made good use of goals from Ryan Nolte (2). Johnny Hagan, Chris Lavoie, Owen Lehane and Eamon Kelly to improve to 23-0-1, Canton will now face Westwood in the D2 South title game Sunday at 1pm at Gallo Arena. Norwood, which ended up at 13-4-6, got its lone goal from Chris Martin.

* Westwood, the third seed, found itself staring at a 2-0 first period deficit at the hands of TVL rival Medfield, but rallied for three goals to take a 3-2 and advance to meet Canton, which handed the Wolverines their only loss of the season (a 4-0 defeat on December 29).
