Massachusetts Girls HS Highlights: Longmeadow Wins Ninth Straight Game

* Senior Julia Masotta scored her 35th, 36th and 37th goals of the season, accounting for all the scoring in Methuen/Tewksbury’s 3-0 win over Westford Academy. A win over Acton-Boxboro on Wednesday will clinch the MVC/Dual County Large crown for the Red Rangers.

* Goals from Sophia Temple, Maggie Young, Ally Keough and Carolyn Dwyer led Boston Latin to a 4-0 blanking of Wayland/Weston.

* Katie Guden scored twice to lead Belmont to a 3-0 shutout win over Winchester.

* D1 #10 Longmeadow won its ninth straight, doubling up Marblehead, 4-2, behind goals from Jillian Croteau, Kayla Russ, Jordan Kowalski and Brigitte Goeler-Slough.

* Sandwich got past the Cape Cod Furies getting two goals from Anna Goodwin and one from Paige Hawkins.

* Two goals each from Cassi Ronan and Regan Patterson powered D1 #7 Franklin to a 5-3 win over Stoughton in the Hockomock League.

* Austin Prep turned back Notre Dame, 6-1. Sam Taber scored twice to lead the Cougars attack, while Maeve Carey, Ella Saracco, Kara Cecchini and Aylah Cioffi each had one.

* Masconomet clinched at least a share of the Northeastern Hockey League crown, holding off Peabody/Lynnfield/North Reading, 3-2. Abby Gendron had two goals and an assist, scoring her 100th career point in the process. Isabel Hulse had the other goal for the Chieftains.

* Waltham and Cambridge skated to a 1-1 deadlock. Angalisa Caceda had the goal for the Hawks. Claire McNeil scored for the Falcons.

* Braintree picked up a solid 3-1 win over Needham. Abbey Holland scored two goals for the Wamps, and Delia Lee had one.

* D1 #2 Duxbury found itself in a defensive struggle with Plymouth, but the Dragons prevailed 2-0 on goals by Grace Collins and Jackie Hayden.
