This week’s HNIB News Massachusetts Girls D2 Top 10 features some big upward mobility from a trio of teams, those being Walpole, Dennis-Yarmouth and Pembroke.

Walpole (10-2-1) jumps four spots all the way to #3 this week, after tying top-ranked Wellesley (1-1) and beating D1 Needham (4-1) and Framingham (8-2).  The Rebels have a big week ahead, with matches against D1 #7 Franklin Monday and D1 #6 Braintree Saturday. In between Walpole with face Weymouth Wednesday. The Rebels have allowed just 17 goals in 13 games.

#5 Dennis Yarmouth (11-2-0) also is up four spots from last week, after impressive wins over Cape Cod (5-1), Sandwich (7-2) and Falmouth (6-1). The Dolphins feature the prolific freshman scoring duo of sisters Kayla and Ava McGaffigan. They take on Barnstable on Wednesday.

Pembroke (11-1-2) climbs to #6 after a big win over #7 Notre Dame (5-3) and Quincy/North Quincy (8-1). The Titans are off until a Saturday matchup with Norwell. Seniors Carly Birolini and Nikki Rinkus have powered the offense.

#1 Wellesley (7-2-2), who beat Milton 4-1 on Saturday, has not one but two match-ups with Notre Dame of Hingham this week (Monday and Friday). The Raiders also get Framingham (Wednesday) and Brookline (Saturday).

Westwood (9-1-3) stays firmly entrenched at #2 after tying Franklin (5-5) and then downing King Philip (4-1).  Medfield (Wednesday) and Dover-Sherborn (Saturday) are on this week’s docket.

KEEP AN EYE ON: Bishop Stang (8-2-1), Cohasset-Hanover (8-3-1), Algonquin/Hudson (8-5-0)
