And then, there were no unbeaten teams left in Massachusetts Girls D2 hockey. Both Westwood and Pembroke suffered their first losses on the season this past week.

Wellesley (6-2-1) holds on to the #1 spot. The Raiders were tied up by D1 Needham (3-3) and edged Natick (3-1) this week. They have a huge tilt Monday with #7 Walpole (8-2-0) and then get Milton on Saturday.

#2 Westwood‘s unbeaten skein came at the hands of D1’s #1 club Austin Prep, a 7-0 loss early in the week. The Wolverines (8-1-2) return to action with a tough week with unbeaten Franklin (Wednesday) and King Philip (Saturday). A Monday game with Mansfield/OA/Foxboro was just postponed.

New #3 Archbishop Williams (7-3-0) actually split this week beating Rhode Island’s Mt. St. Charles (3-0) and falling to D1 #2 St. Mary’s in a hard-fought 2-0 game. The Bishops have Natick on the schedule Monday, and play Austin Prep (Wednesday) and Matignon (Saturday).

Notre Dame Hingham falls to #4 after suffering losses to Walpole (3-1) and Duxbury (3-2), sandwiched around a win over LaSalle Academy (4-0). The Cougars battle in-town rival Hingham (Monday) and have Pembroke (Friday).

A pair of 2-0 shutout wins over Woburn and Wilmington propel Winchester (6-1-4) to #5. The Sachems have a non-league with Quincy/North Quincy Monday and tackle Stoneham Saturday.

#6 Canton (5-3-4) is in a bit of funk, losing to Duxbury (5-2) and tying Medway-Ashland (2-2) this week. The Bulldogs look to right themselves against Dedham (Wednesday) and Norwood (Saturday).

Walpole followed up the big win over Notre Dame with a 4-2 victory over Brookline. The Rebels get their shot at Wellesley and follow that up with another huge battle with Needham (Wednesday).

#8 Matignon (6-5-0) climbs above .500 after a win over Arlington Catholic (4-1).  Leominster (Monday). Latin Academy (Wednesday) and Archbishop Williams (Saturday) are on the docket this week.

Returning to the Top 10 this week is #9 Dennis-Yarmouth (8-2-0). The Dolphins solved #10 Pembroke (9-1-2) with a 2-1 win Wednesday and beat Marshfield 7-3 on Saturday.

The Titans rebounded and knocked off the Cape Cod Furies. Friday’s bout with Notre Dame will be telling.
