It’s the final week of the regular season and the heavies in Massachusetts Girls D1 hockey show no signs of slowing down. In fact, the cumulative record of the 10 teams in this week’s HNIB News Top 10 is a staggering 149-17-17.

Additionally, there are several teams just outside of the Top 10 having spectacular seasons that are capable of going deep into the post-season. It should make for a great MIAA Girls D1 Tournament.

A handful of vacation week tournaments and intriguing non-league games highlight the final week.

#1 Austin Prep (17-0-1) wrapped up the Catholic Central title outright with a 4-2 win over St. Mary’s. Remaining Games: Walpole (Tuesday), Notre Dame or Marshfield (Thursday).

#2 Woburn (17-0-2) picked up a pair of wins over Lexington (3-0) and Winchester (3-1). Remaining Games: Arlington (Monday), Hanover NH (Thursday).

Up to #3 this week is Methuen/Tewksbury (17-1-1). The Red Rangers blanked both Billerica/Chelmsford (2-0) and Acton-Boxboro (4-0) and rallied late to tie Andover (2-2). Remaining Games: Masconomet (Tuesday), Winchester or St. Peter Marian (Thursday).

#4 Shrewsbury (17-0-1) remained unbeaten after wins over Winthrop (4-1) and Natick (7-3). Remaining Games: Notre Dame (Monday), Burlington (Wednesday).

The loss to Austin Prep, as well as a tie with Archbishop Williams, has St. Mary’s (14-3-1) at #5 this week. Remaining Games: Arlington (Tuesday), Braintree (Thursday).

#6 Barnstable (14-1-4) shut out Latin Academy/Fontbonne in its only action. Remaining Games: Bishop Stang (Monday).

Duxbury (15-3-1) dropped a spot to #7 after a tough one-goal loss to Canton, which did come after wins over Falmouth (5-1) and Walpole (3-0). Remaining Games: Andover (Tuesday), Westford Academy (Thursday).
