Post-season positioning will be on the table this week, with no less than six of the 10 teams in this week’s HNIB News Massachusetts Girls D1 Top 10 participating in the Hingham Showcase, where 12 of the state’s better programs will each play two games, one Tuesday and one Thursday.

#1 Austin Prep (18-0-0) will not be there, but closes out its regular season with three games: Arlington Catholic (Monday), Wellesley (Wednesday) and Longmeadow (Thursday). The Cougars downed Shrewsbury 3-1 in a tough matchup on Sunday.

#2 Duxbury (17-0-1) remained unbeaten with a win over Norwell (4-0). At Hingham, the Dragons will see Westford Academy (Tuesday) and Needham (Thursday), with a makeup game Friday against Notre Dame.

With an MVC/Dual County Large title clinched, #3 Methuen/Tewksbury (16-1-1) takes on Shrewsbury Tuesday in the opening round of the Newburyport Bank Classic, and will then see either Masconomet or Billerica/Chelmsford on Thursday.

#4 Andover (16-1-1) is in Hingham. The Warriors take on Arlington Catholic (Tuesday) and Notre Dame (Thursday).

St. Mary’s

Needham (Tuesday) and Reading (Thursday) are #5 St. Mary’s (14-2-2) opponents in Hingham this week. The Spartans closed out their league season with a win over Archbishop Williams (2-0). Defenseman Mady Hentosh recently committed to Endicott College.

#6 Braintree (14-4-0) will battle #8 Arlington (13-2-3) at Hingham Tuesday. The Wamps will play Westford Academy Thursday.

#7 Franklin (16-1-2) had wins over King Philip (2-1) and Leominster (5-3). The Panthers finish their regular season on Wednesday against Norwood.

The Spy Ponders, this year’s Middlesex League Liberty Division champions, get Hingham Thursday in addition to the Braintree game Tuesday.

#9 Reading (10-2-6), coming off a pair of 6-2 wins over Belmont and Lexington, heads to Hingham to see Acton-Boxboro Tuesday.

Making its first appearance in the rankings this week at #10 is Boston Latin (15-3-2). The Wolfpack take on Falmouth Tuesday at the MJT Memorial Tournament. They have won eight straight games.
