Jim Clark joined Hockey Night in Boston in December 2019, and has covered high school hockey in Massachusetts for more than three decades. He also covers high school hockey and is a multiplatform editor for the Boston Globe, and previously spent two decades as high school hockey reporter at the Boston Herald, where he also served as the high schools editor from 2000-06. A hastily arranged rematch of the 2020 Division 3 South final ended up with the same result — a Hanover victory — but in much more decisive fashion. Tao Lanagan had a hat trick and Tyler MacDermott scored twice to lead the Hawks to a 6-0 victory over Dartmouth in Wednesday’s Division 3 action at Hobomock Ice Arena in Pembroke. J.P. Kerney had 46 saves in the loss for the Indians.

The teams arranged the game two days before when Hanover found itself without an opponent. On its road to the co-state championship last March, Hanover needed a pair of third-period tallies to overcome the Indians, 2-0, for the South title.

* Boden Corbett’s shutout goaltending kept Nantucket unbeaten with its 6-0 victory over Mashpee/Monomoy in the Cape & Islands Lighthouse. Marsh Hickman led the offense for the Whalers with a pair of goals, and Alex Freeman had a goal and two assists. Hudson Perry chipped in a goal and assist, Riley Williams notched his first varsity goal, and Cole Evens also lit the lamp.

Martha’s Vineyard

* Behind 14 saves from Graham Stearns, Martha’s Vineyard blanked St. John Paul II, 6-0. Jake Scott scored twice for the Vineyarders, with Hunter Meader, Nick BenDavid, Liam Marek and Sam Hoyt adding the others.

Somerset Berkley

* Somerset Berkley also stayed on its perfect roll with a 4-1 win over Old Rochester/Fairhaven in a South Coast Conference matchup. Evan Affonso scored twice for the Blue Raiders, Jon Pacheco and Luke Gauvin added one apiece, and Noah Taylor chipped in three assists.

* A hat trick from Ryan Shields was all Latin Academy needed in its 10-2 nonleague victory over Greater Lowell/Nashoba Tech. However, the Dragons didn’t stop there, with James Dillon and Zach Maffeo scoring twice each, while Ryan Farnham, Cullen Lacey and Bailey Chan added a goal apiece.

* Brandon Swaczyk’s hat trick sparked Essex Tech to its 7-1 win over St. Joseph Prep, Swaczyk also added an assist for the Hawks, Tyler Geary scored his first career goal, and Nick LaConte, Larry Graffeo and Dom Paolucci also scored.

* Bernie Mulcahy’s tiebreaking goal in the third period propelled Cohasset to a 3-2 win over Middleboro. Mulcahy also assisted on Quentin Humphrey’s first-period goal for the Skippers after Justin Appleby opened the scoring.

* Stephen D’Ercole and Max Sherman scored for Norton in its 2-2 tie with Dedham in the Tri-Valley League.

Bishop Stang

* Jack Jedrey’s hat trick and assist sparked Bishop Stang in its 8-0 blanking of Cardinal Spellman in the Catholic Central League.

Keegan Cote

* Lowell edged Methuen, 3-1, in a Merrimack Valley Conference matchup behind a goal and assist each from Keegan Cote, Kevin Conley and Colin Pickett.

* Ed Tarmey snapped a tie in the third period and Newton South outlasted Acton-Boxboro, 3-2. Dan Schwartzman and Mitch Gordon also scored for the Lions.

* Luc Denney’s two goals sparked Cambridge to its 5-2 DCL win over Bedford.
