Jim Clark joined Hockey Night in Boston in December 2019, and has covered high school hockey in Massachusetts for more than three decades. He also covers high school hockey and is a multiplatform editor for the Boston Globe, and previously spent two decades as high school hockey reporter at the Boston Herald, where he also served as the high schools editor from 2000-06. Clark was honored by the Mass. State Hockey Coaches Association with its William Stewart Award for contributions to the sport in May 2019, and also received the Joel Perlmutter Award for media coverage in 2006. A graduate of UMass, he also spent eight years as sports editor/reporter at the Sentinel & Enterprise in Fitchburg, and has extensively covered high school hockey in Central and Western Mass. as well as Connecticut.

* Luc Denney notched his 100th career point with a power play goal, and Cambridge blanked Boston Latin, 2-0, in the Dual County League.

* Hopkinton got power play goals from Joe Carrazza and Pavit Mehra and skated past Holliston, 3-0. Colin Norred posted back-to-back shutouts against the Panthers for the Hillers, who also got a goal from Aidan Walsh, and two assists each from Cam Jerrett and Geoff Tocco.

* Nick Fish had two goals and an assist, Matt Milko added a goal and two assists, and Ashland battled to a 6-6 tie with Medfield in the Tri-Valley League. Mark Milko, P.J. Kissane and Nick Cibotti had the other goals for the Clockers.

* Behind goals from Tommy Higgins, Mattias Sarnblad and Ian Chang, Dover-Sherborn/Weston closed its season with a 3-2 win over Holliston.

* Mike Whalen scored both goals for Norton in its 2-1 TVL win over Bellingham.

* James Culkins and Nantucket shut out Dennis-Yarmouth, 4-0, in the Cape & Islands League. Hudson Perry, Gavin Pekarcik, Cosmo Tedeschi and Camden Knapp each scored for the Whalers. Mason Sheehan had 19 saves for the Dolphins.

Martha’s Vineyard

* Cam Geary led five different scorers with a goal and two assists, sparking Martha’s Vineyard to a 5-1 win over Mashpee/Monomoy. Nick BenDavid, Finn Lewis, Hunter Meader and Jake Scott had the other goals for the Vineyarders.

* St. John Paul II also beat Mashpee/Monomoy, 5-2, on goals from Jake Walman, Declan Tolley, Sam Delman, Chuck Baroni and Brady Meyer.

* Mikey Pineau had a goal and assist, and Evan St. Martin notched the game-winner for Abington in its 3-2 nonleague win over Silver Lake. Jake Quinn also scored and Spencer Merrick made 29 saves for the Green Wave. … The day before, John Polito had a hat trick and two assists in the Wave’s 7-0 South Shore League win over East Bridgewater. David McArthur scored twice and had three assists, Pineau had a goal and three assists, and Quinn added the other goal. Joseph Dow earned the shutout with 20 saves.

* Dartmouth rode a power play goal from Charlie Camisa and the shutout goaltending of Ashton Machado to edge Durfee, 1-0, in the Southeast Conference.

Brandon Cardelli
Bishop Stang

* Bishop Stang got big games from Justin Gouveia (two goals, three assists), Brandon Cardelli (two goals, assist) and Ben Saunders (goal, two assists) in its 7-1 win over Cardinal Spellman in the Catholic Central League. Jack Jedrey and Dylan Aguiar had the other goals for the Spartans.

* Liam Brown scored twice and James Stanislaski played a big game in net to backbone St. Joseph Prep to a 3-1 nonleague win over Greater Lowell/Nashoba Tech.

* GL/NT bounced back with a huge 12-0 win over East Boston, sparked by Ryan Frasier’s hat trick as well as a pair of goals each from Chris Gillis and Nic Zaharoolis. Jeremy Dolan earned his first varsity win in goal.
