Tewksbury has been the team everyone is chasing in Massachusetts Division 2 hockey all season, and the Redmen end the regular season in the No. 1 spot in the latest Hockey Night in Boston rankings.
The No. 1 seed in the MIAA Division 2 tournament should follow when the pairings are announced Saturday. No. 2 Canton and No. 3 Gloucester should also be atop the seedings, perhaps in reverse order.
No. 4 Norwood also enters the postseason on a hot streak, and the Mustangs should be in the 6-7-8 seed range, in some order, along with No. 6 Newton South and No. 7 Walpole.
No. 5 Masconomet is another team that can’t be overlooked in the postseason, while No. 8 Duxbury and No. 10 Silver Lake should get high seeds after battling through the tough Patriot League.
Newburyport moves up one spot to No. 9 after winning the Newburyport Bank Classic title, beating D1s Shrewsbury and Andover.
