The tight Merrimack Valley/Dual County 2 race continues to shake up the HNIB News Massachusetts Division 2 boys hockey rankings.

Boston Latin had been cruising along unbeaten in its last 10, with a rematch against Lincoln-Sudbury on the horizon this week. But North Andover came in and threw a wrench into that with a solid 4-0 victory Saturday.

With that, the Scarlet Knights jump into the top five coming off a week in which they also played Lincoln-Sudbury and Division 1 Waltham to 1-1 ties.

What didn’t change was the top spot, where Canton continues to reside. The Bulldogs beat Division 1 foes Newburyport and Franklin to extend their unbeaten streak to 39 games

Masconomet jumped up to No. 2 after wins against Beverly and Lynnfield, while new No. 3 Tewksbury is red hot with a big 7-1 win against Billerica.

No. 4 Lincoln-Sudbury and No. 5 North Andover round out the top spots.

The other big mover was Whitman-Hanson, up four spots to No. 10 following a dominating week of victories against Rockland, Plymouth South and Hanover.

There are five matchups between ranked Division 2 teams this week. Lincoln-Sudbury and North Andover have a pair each, including their head-to-head battle Saturday (7:30, Merrimack). L-S also has Wednesday’s game at Boston Latin (4:00, Murphy), as well as a Monday meeting with Div. 1 St. John’s (Shrewsbury), while North Andover visits Tewksbury on Wednesday (7:20, Breakaway).

A key Patriot League showdown pits Whitman-Hanson vs. No. 6 Plymouth North on Wednesday (5:30, Armstrong). The Blue Eagles also travel Saturday (5:00, The Bog) to face a Duxbury team they beat earlier this season.

The other head-to-head matchup pits Cape Ann rivals Masconomet and No. 9 Triton on Saturday (2:00, Graf).

No. 14 Wakefield has a pair of tough matchups with Div. 1 Middlesex League foes Winchester (Wednesday, 8:00, O’Brien) and Burlington (Saturday, 4:00, Ice Palace). No. 12 Dedham takes on unbeaten Div. 3 power Hopkinton (Wednesday, 8:00, NE Sports Center), and No. 13 Scituate travels Wednesday to Barnstable (7:10, Kennedy).
