Gary Demopoulos has been covering prep school hockey for the HNIB News for over 30 years, and has been the editor of the HNIB News since 2005. A former sportswriter and news editor at the Woburn (MA) Daily Times Chronicle, he has been the HNIB News' key reporter for Mens Prep School hockey since 1988, as well as womens hockey, both at the prep school and high school levels. for almost 20 years. Gary also helps organize and oversee HNIB's many summer tournaments and festivals for scholastic players.

Hadley Green

–  In the Bay State Conference, D2 #5 Needham and D2 #10 Natick played to a 2-2 standoff. Maeve Hymovitz and Katelyn Birnbaum had goals for the Rockets. Hadley Green and McKenna Doucette countered for the Redhawks.

Morgan Roach Norwood

–  Norwood improved to 9-0-0 with a 4-1 win over Franklin. Molly Roach, Molly Cataldo, Emily Spadorcia and Jenna Naumann had the goals for the Mustangs. On Sunday, an overtime goal from Morgan Roach gave Norwood its 10th straight win, 1-0 over Westwood.

Mia Alfonso
Pope Francis

–  Pope Francis also won a pair of games over the weekend. The Cardinals downed Auburn 3-1 Saturday with two goals from Mia Alfonso and one from Lauren Crocker. On Sunday, it was a 3-0 shutout over Billerica/Chelmsford behind 15 saves from Rowan Howe. Kaitlyn Ondrick had the lone goal Pope Francis would need with a power play goal.

–  Molly Dacey, Sadie Taylor and Jaelyn Marchetta each had a goal and Bridget Gray had 33 saves in Belmont’s 3-2 win over Burlington.

Kaitlyn Bush HPNA

–  HPNA held on for a 5-4 win over Andover in MVC/Dual County Large play behind two-goal performances from Kaitlyn Bush and Emma Skafas. Riley Buckley also had a goal for HPNA.

Karaline O’Toole Archbishop Williams

– Goals by Karaline O’Toole, Caroline Batchelder, Caitlyn O’Connell and Grace Mottau led Archbishop Williams past Latin Academy/Fontbonne, 4-0.

–  Longmeadow knocked Algonquin/Hudson from the unbeaten ranks, taking a 2-0 win as Anna Chrisanthopoulos and Maddy Murphy had the Lancers goals and Maddie Gallant made 18 saves for the shutout.

–   Molly Driscoll‘s two goals were the difference as Watertown downed Reading, 3-1 in a Middlesex League cross-over.

Kelly Holmes
King Philip

–   King Philip slipped past Westwood, 4-3. Kelly Holmes had two goals and an assist and Jen Daniels a goal and an assist in the win. Morgan Cunningham also had a goal.

Kaci Ryder Shrewsbury

–   D1 #5 Shrewsbury avenged an earlier loss with a 5-0 shutout win over Acton-Boxboro. Kaci Ryder figured in all five goals (2G-3A) getting her 100th point in the process. Katie Vona, Maddie Mrva and Bridget McLaughlin each had a goal as well.

–   Shea Kelleher‘s second goal, in overtime, gave Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake a 5-4 win over Hingham. Caitlin Dilley also had two goals and two assists, and Abbey Powers had a goal.

–   Hailey Concannon pitched her first career shutout and Maddie Bailey and Maggie Lynch each had a pair of goals as Quincy/North Quincy blanked Hanover, 4-0.
