Gary Demopoulos has been covering prep school hockey for the HNIB News for over 30 years, and has been the editor of the HNIB News since 2005. A former sportswriter and news editor at the Woburn (MA) Daily Times Chronicle, he has been the HNIB News' key reporter for Mens Prep School hockey since 1988, as well as womens hockey, both at the prep school and high school levels. for almost 20 years. Boston Latin

* Boston Latin got its first win of the season, blanking Concord-Carlisle, 3-0. Ellen Linso made 36 saves to record her 31st career shutout. Ava Enright scored a pair of goals and Ally Keough had the other for the Wolfpack.

* Also getting into the win column was Masconomet, which picked up a wild, 8-6 win over Winthrop in the Northeastern Hockey League.  Sage Smith scored two goals for the Chieftains, while Maddie Kenney, Gabby Oakes and Lauren Dillon each contributed a goal and assist.

Ryan Maguire

* After being idle for awhile, Notre Dame Academy returned to action and forged a 3-3 tie with Hingham. Alex Gay netted the tying goal late in the third period. Hannah Bevilacqua and Lauren White also had goals for the Cougars. Ryan Maguire scored twice for Hingham.

* It took a big effort for Lincoln-Sudbury to remain unbeaten, rallying from a three-goal deficit to knock off Acton-Boxboro, 6-3, giving the Colonials their first loss of the season. Ava Melz, Helen Toland, Peyton Kennedy, Kimmy Lucier, Katie Lanzillo and Harper Friedholm all had goals for the Warriors, now 6-0-1.

* Two goals from Miranda DiMita and Jennifer Birolini powered Pembroke to its seventh straight win, a 4-2 victory over Cohasset/Hanover.

* In Medway Co-op’s 2-2 tie with Westwood, Dani Moriarty scored both goals for the Mustangs.

Lily Duffy

* Goals by Lily Duffy and Molly Dacey allowed Belmont to rally from two goals down and forge a 2-2 tie with Reading in the Middlesex League.

Claire Maxwell

* Natick remained hot, getting two goals from Claire Maxwell and singletons out of Colleen Quirk and Kaitlin Dempsey in a 4-0 win over Newton Co-op. Lani Schneider earned the shutout between the pipes.

* Duxbury improved to 8-0-1 with a 5-0 win over Marshfield. Ayla Abban scored twice, and Carson Cerow, McKenna Colella and Lily McGoldrick once each for the Green Dragons.

* In a game from Tuesday night, Austin Prep got a late third period goal from eighth-grader Bree Anderson en route to a 2-1 win over Catholic Central League rival St. Mary’s. McKenzie Cerrato also scored for the Cougars, while Sam Porazinski countered for St. Mary’s.
