A former sportswriter and news editor at the Woburn (MA) Daily Times Chronicle, he has been the HNIB News' key reporter for Mens Prep School hockey since 1988, as well as womens hockey, both at the prep school and high school levels. for almost 20 years. * Peabody/Lynnfield/North Reading clinched the Northeastern Hockey League title with a 5-0 win over Marblehead. Eleni Spack, Alexa Pepper, Shirley Whitmore, Ava Buckley and Catie Kampersal each had a goal.

Halle Greenleaf Beverly/Danvers

* A hat trick from Halle Greenleaf and a goal by Avery LeBlanc powered Beverly/Danvers past Glocuester, 4-2.

* Junior Caroline Doherty scored all three Hingham goals in the Harborwomen’s 3-0 win over Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake.

* Speaking of hat tricks, Franklin’s Julia Flynn also had one in Franklin’s 4-0 shutout of Latin Academy. Haley Wernig added a goal for the Panthers.

* Malden Catholic fell behind 1-0 but rallied with two Antonia DiZoglio goals and one from Abbie Poole for a 3-1 win over HPNA.

* Tatum Villa, Sophia Laprel and Jasper Russo each had a goal as Framingham edged Brookline, 3-2, in overtime.

* Two goals from Ashley Smith and one from Samantha Souza were just enough for Bishop Stang to get past Dennis-Yarmouth, 3-2.

* Reading edged Arlington, 4-3. Libby Quinn got the game-winner in overtime, and also had the tying goal. Lily Rogers and Jacklyn Shimansky also had goals for the Rockets. Libby Corsetti, Tanya Tommaraju and Taylor Broughton lit the lamp for Arlington.

* Shawsheen/Bedford improved to 11-6-0 with a 3-0 win over Medford. Rebecca Sobol scored twice and Sophia Demeo once in the win.

Brenna Joyce Algonquin

* In a well-balanced attack, Emily Johns, Brenna Joyce, Annabelle Biagini and Alex Cutler each had a goal as Algonquin won its fifth straight, beating Shrewsbury, 4-1.

Maggie Whelden Sandwich

* Sandwich had an impressive 3-0 win over Bishop Feehan, utilizing goals from Casey Pestilli, Khloe Shultz and Maddy Butler. and 28 saves from Maggie Welden, her first career win in goal.

* Allie Curtis notched her fourth shutout of the season and Jill Peabody had the lone goal in Needham’s 1-0 win over Walpole.
