Duxbury put the finishing touches on a memorable season by taking home the Patriot Cup. In the title game, the Dragons blanked Pembroke, 3-0.
The Titans came into the contest on a 13-game winning streak, not having lost since opening night, a 2-0 setback to this same Duxbury team.
The Dragons (14-1-1) got a goal in each period en route to the win.
Alannah Akins notched the only goal Duxbury would need in the first period. Senior captain Mae Pittenger added an insurance tally midway through the second period, and leading scorer Ayla Abban sealed the deal with a goal late in the third period.
Anna McGinty pitched the shutout in goal, her 11th shutout of the season.
Duxbury finished the season outscoring its opponents by a 49-12 margin, and allowed goals in only five of its games this season.
Pembroke, which finished 13-2-0, graduates just two seniors. The Titans outscored their opponents to the tune of 57-16.
