If the games at this week’s Hingham Showcase are any indication, then the upcoming MIAA Girls Division 1 Tournament should be a dandy.

Both Notre Dame and Hingham won two games at the Showcase, including wins over top-ranked St. Mary’s. Malden Catholic, entering the week ranked #2 in the HNIB News Massachusetts Girls Division 1 Top 10, also won a pair of games there.

Those four clubs will be among the favorites in the post-season, which gets underway next week.

And, don’t count out #5 Lincoln-Sudbury, the champions of the MVC/Dual County Large.

Defending state champ Shrewsbury, with two solid wins at the Newburyport Bank Classic, including a 5-1 triumph over Pope Francis, served notice it is not going to give up the crown easily.

MIAA Tourney Pairings will be announced on Saturday.
