A strong showing from Canton has scuttled the HNIB News Massachusetts Girls Division 2 Top 10 as we enter the final full week of the regular season.

Canton (12-2-3) knocked off Archbishop Williams, 2-1, and tied #1 Duxbury 1-1 to move up to #4 this week, showing that they will mean business in the post-season.

Sandwich (12-5-1) moved up one spot. After falling to D1 Notre Dame, the Lady Knights blanked Dennis-Yarmouth (6-0) and then #8 Falmouth 5-0 on Sunday to clinch the Cape & Islands league title. It won’t get any easier, as Sandwich travels to Duxbury on Saturday.

#2 Andover (12-2-2) pitched two more shutouts, over Acton-Boxboro (2-0) and Billerica/Chelmsford (1-0) to clinch a share of the MVC/Dual County Large title. The Warriors are off until a Sunday matchup with Reading.

#3 Algonquin/Hudson (13-2-1) swept three games, taking down Acton-Boxboro (5-1), Auburn (6-1) and Pope Francis (4-2).

Following the loss to Canton, it second straight defeat, #5 Archbishop Williams (13-2-1) rebounded with wins over Bishop Stang (7-1) and Malden Catholic (2-1), and have a key matchup with Notre Dame on Wednesday.

Milton (15-1-3) has climbed to #7, also winning three games this past week over Needham (3-2), Newton Co-op (5-1) and Marshfield (1-0). Weymouth is up Wednesday.

Falmouth (11-3-3) did have a win over the Cape Cod Furies, in between losses to Martha’s Vineyard (4-1) and Sandwich. The Clippers face a good Norwood team on Wednesday.

#9 Winchester had a tie with Belmont (2-2) and then a solid 4-1 win over Arlington. The Red & Black have Woburn Wednesday.

And there is a tie for the #10 spot between Lincoln-Sudbury (14-3-0) and newcomer Martha’s Vineyard (11-5-2). L-S rolled past Concord-Carlisle and Wayland-Weston to clinch the MVC/Dual County Small crown, while the Vineyarders are playing some of their best hockey as the post-season nears.

ON THE CUSP: Dedham, Malden Catholic, Burlington, Framingham
