In this week’s HNIB News Massachusetts Girls Division 2 Top 10, Sandwich and Winchester continue their perfect seasons and upward movement, while Braintree and first-timer Norwood make appearances.

#1 Duxbury (8-0-2) got tested this past week, but got it down in wins over Pembroke and Plymouth. The Dragons are at Marshfield Monday and host Norwell Saturday.

Sandwich (6-0-0) is up to #2 after a week that saw solid wins over Plymouth and Falmouth. The Lady Knights are at Plymouth Monday.

#3 Andover (5-2-0) is down a spot. The Warriors fell to Acton-Boxboro (4-3) before rebounding with a shutout win over Billerica/Chelmsford. A pair of tough ones loom against St. Mary’s Monday and HPNA Saturday.

#4 Algonquin/Hudson (8-0-1) holds firm after an idle week. The T-Hawks are back Monday against Franklin.

Now 6-0-0, #5 Winchester had a huge Middlesex League win over #7 Woburn (4-2-1), taking a 5-4 win, and then turned back Lexington (3-1). A huge test looms Wednesday against D1 #4 Arlington.

#6 Natick (4-3-1) gave D1 #2 Notre Dame all it could handle Saturday before falling, 2-1. The Redhawks also had a win over Brookline. Powerful Austin Prep is on Monday’s docket, followed by Braintree (Wednesday) and Needham (Saturday). It is a big week for Natick.

The Tanners of Woburn take on Watertown Monday in their only action of the week.

#8 Needham (5-1-2) had an impressive 2-2 deadlock with Notre Dame and is scheduled to face Auburn on Monday before hosting Natick Saturday.

Braintree (6-2-1) is back in the Top 10 at #9. The Wamps bested Weymouth (5-1) and King Philip (2-1). After Natick, Braintree hosts Brookline Saturday.

Making its debut in the rankings at #10 is Norwood, also unbeaten on the season at 6-0-0. The Mustangs, who have allowed just seven goals, will see Milton (Wednesday) and Franklin (Saturday).
