It didn’t take long for Duxbury (17-3-0) to return to a familiar place in this week’s HNIB News Massachusetts Girls Division 1 Top 10.

The Dragons blanked two solid opponents – Notre Dame (2-0) and Canton (4-0) to reclaim the top spot. This week they close out the regular season at the Hingham Showcase, facing Archbishop Williams (Tuesday) and Arlington (Thursday).

Last week’s #1, Falmouth (17-2-1) checks in at #2. The Clippers fell to Canton (2-0) earlier in the week, but did bounce back to blank D1 Winthrop 2-0 on Saturday. They host the Lobster Pot Tournament this week, facing LaSalle (RI) on Monday.

#3 Burlington (15-1-2) got past Wellesley (3-2) in its only action. They close out their regular season with Vacation Week games against Wakefield (Tuesday) and Wellesley again (Wednesday).

#4 Nauset/Monomoy (16-2-1) downed Martha’s Vineyard and finishes up with D1 Bishop Feehan on Wednesday.

The regular season is over for #5 Canton (17-4-1). In between the win over Falmouth and the loss to Duxbury, the Bulldogs beat Westwood (3-1). They will be a dangerous post-season club.

#6 Milton (16-3-1) just keeps on winning close games. The Wildcats edged Marshfield 1-0 and look ahead to Medfield (Tuesday) and Bishop Stang (Thursday).

Idle Longmeadow (10-3-1) stays at #7. The Lancers will participate in the Briana McCarthy Tournament this week, facing Arlington Catholic in a semifinal contest on Monday.

Algonquin (11-6-1) jumps up a spot to #8 after a big 4-1 win over D1 heavy Shrewbury. The Titans have a pair of testers to close it out with Dedham (Monday) and Pembroke (Wednesday).

The loss to Canton finished #9 Westwood‘s regular season at 13-5-0. The Wolverines await their first round MIAA Tournament opponent.

#10 Pembroke (14-4-0) edged Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake. Hanover (Monday) and Algonquin (Wednesday) close it out for the Titans.
