The top two teams in the HNIB News Massachusetts Girls Division 2 Top 10 have flip-flopped this week, with Archbishop Williams (10-0-1) fresh off a huge, 3-2, comeback overtime win over D1’s #1 team St. Mary’s Saturday, switching positions with now #2 Duxbury (13-0-1), which had a 1-1 tie with Hingham on Saturday.

On Wednesday, the Bishops face Matignon, and the Dragons take on Hanover. Then, on Saturday, these two powers will meet face-to-face at the Canton Sportsplex (7:40pm faceoff) in the biggest D2 game of the season.

#3 Andover (9-2-2) is up one spot to #3 this week after wins over Westford Academy (3-1) and HPNA (2-1). The Warriors face Methuen/Tewksbury on Tuesday.

#4 Algonquin/Hudson (8-2-1) is down one spot. The Titans fell to Pope Francis, 2-1, on Saturday. Up next is a home-and-home with Longmeadow (Monday and Saturday).

Falmouth (8-1-3) is solid at #5 as the Clippers only result was a 2-1 win over #7 Sandwich (9-4-0). The Clippers look ahead to Dennis-Yarmouth (Wednesday) and Nantucket (Saturday).

#6 Canton (10-2-2) looks like it is back on track after shutout wins over the Hockomock Stars and Franklin. A Wednesday date with King Philip looms.

The Blue Knights responded from the loss to Falmouth with a 4-0 shutout win over the Cape Cod Furies. Up next are Nantucket (Wednesday) and Barnstable (Saturday).

#8 Lincoln-Sudbury (11-2-0) downed Acton-Boxboro 6-1. The Warriors will need to be ready for new #10 Winchester (8-3-0) on Monday, and a hot Waltham team on Saturday.

#9 Braintree (8-2-2) was tied up by Natick (2-2) this past Saturday. A key contest is up for Wednesday with Milton. Needham is the Wamps opponent on Saturday.

Winchester has won six straight, a streak that has seen the Red & Black outscore its opponents 31-5 during that stretch. Winchester also sees Belmont (Wednesday) and Reading (Saturday).
