Just two weeks left in the regular season and with 32 of the 39 Division 1 teams qualifying for the MIAA tournament this year, there won’t be many playoff pushes down the stretch.

#1 Austin Prep (17-0-0) continues to lead the way in the HNIB News Massachusetts Girls Division 1 Top 10. The Cougars posted two more shutouts this week in league wins over Bishop Fenwick (5-0) and St. Mary’s (3-0). They open CCL play Tuesday against Bishop Feehan.

Book-end 4-1 wins over Belmont and Reading have clinched the Middlesex League Liberty title for new #2 Arlington (15-1-1). The Spy Ponders are off until a Saturday date with Wakefield.

#3 Winthrop (12-0-1) beat Marblehead and Shawsheen/Bedford in league play in a pair of one-goal games and has Medford/Malden (Monday), Masconomet (Wednesday) and Gloucester (Saturday) this week in the NHL.

Up a spot to #4 this week is Peabody/Lynnfield/North Reading (12-3-1), which posted weekend wins over Newburyport (5-0) and Marblehead (x-x). PLNR has Marblehead again Wednesday and Medford/Malden (Saturday).

#5 St. Mary’s (9-4-2) had a solid win over Arlington Catholic (7-0) and then battled Austin Prep hard in a 3-0 loss. The Spartans have Fenwick (Monday), then face Archbishop Williams in a CCL Cup matchup Wednesday and non-league Pope Francis Saturday.

#6 Notre Dame Academy (6-4-3) blanked Boston Latin Saturday (4-0). A three-game week sees Falmouth (Wednesday), Westwood (Friday) and #7 Acton-Boxboro (12-3-1) on Saturday.

The Colonials were upended by HPNA, but did post wins over Westford Academy and Lincoln-Sudbury to clinch at least an MVC/Dual County Large co-championship. They face Wayland/Weston in a Dual County Cup game Monday.

#8 Shrewsbury (9-4-1) beat Algonquin (3-1) and Westford Academy (6-1). These Colonials are on the road for three games this week, playing Billerica/Chelmsford (Monday), Andover (Wednesday) and Masconomet (Friday).

The #9 Cape Cod Furies (12-2-2) continued their solid season with wins over Falmouth (1-0), Martha’s Vineyard (3-1) and Old Rochester (8-0). They have a tough one with Barnstable (Monday), then get Plymouth (Wednesday) and Pembroke (Saturday), two more tough games.

Making its debut in the rankings at #10 is Pope Francis (11-5-0). The Cardinals will take on St. Mary’s this Saturday in what should be a good test.
