Showing their strength, this week’s top ten teams combined to lose just one game over the past seven days, and that was a game that involved two ranked teams. Even the two teams just outside the top 10 did not lose.

#1 St. Mary’s (14-1-1) prepared for its big game Monday with #6 PLNR (13-1-0) with wins over Central Catholic and Reading. The Spartans will also face Stoneham/Wilmington on Wednesday.

Malden Catholic (9-3-2) leapfrogs Notre Dame Academy to the #2 spot after a 3-1 win over the Cougars. MC takes on Division 2’s top team – Duxbury – on Wednesday, and then has Bishop Feehan on Saturday.

#3 Notre Dame (9-3-2) bounced back from the MC loss by downing Rhode Island’s LaSalle Academy, 4-1. The Cougars look ahead to Arlington Catholic on Saturday.

#4 Hingham (11-5-1) continues to play solid hockey, knocking off Plymouth and Pembroke. The Harborwomen take on Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake on Thursday and Quincy/North Quincy on Saturday.

#5 Lincoln-Sudbury (14-2-1) reeled off a trio of wins over Arlington, Algonquin and Westford. A huge MVC/Dual County large battle looms Wednesday with #9 Methuen/Tewksbury (11-3-1).

PLNR will be ready for St. Mary’s after taking care of business Saturday in a 6-3 league win over Shawsheen/Bedford.

#7 Shrewsbury (7-3-4) blanked HPNA (2-0) and tied with Methuen/Tewksbury (1-1). The Colonials face Acton-Boxboro (Monday) and Westford Academy (Saturday).

#8 Pope Francis (10-4-1) returned to action Sunday with a x-x win over Marblehead. The Cardinals have a rematch with Longmeadow on Wednesday before traveling to take on powerhouse Duxbury on Saturday.

Methuen/Tewksbury can pick up a huge win over Lincoln-Sudbury on Wednesday and then face Waltham on Saturday.

#10 Belmont/Watertown (9-0-3) remains the state’s only unbeaten team after Saturday’s 2-0 win over Winchester. The Marauders have a busy week with Reading (Wednesday), Burlington (Thursday) and Arlington (Saturday).

Keep an eye on both Boston Latin (12-3-2) and Waltham (12-2-1), both having tremendous seasons as well.
