All eyes will be on the Wellesley Ice Center Wednesday night when Massachusetts Girls D2 top-ranked Wellesley (8-1-0) hosts D1’s top team – Austin Prep (7 pm). Earlier this season, AP gave the Raiders their only loss to date – a 1-0 decision.

Shutout wins over Needham (2-0) and Natick (5-0) highlighted this past week for Wellesley, which also takes on Matignon (Monday) and Milton (Saturday).

From here on, things got a big scrambled, as Westwood‘s (8-3-0) big win over previously unbeaten Canton (4-1) vaults the Wolverins all the way up to #2 this week. Westwood, which also beat D1 Franklin, gets Medfield-Norton (Monday) and King Philip (Saturday).

The loss to Westwood drops Canton (9-1-1) just one rung to #3 this week. The Bulldogs did slip past Dedham. They will take on Medway/Ashland (Wednesday) and D1 Hingham (Saturday), both on the road.

#4 Falmouth (6-1-2) stays put after settling for a 2-2 standoff with Barnstable. A big D2 game looms Wednesday with #6 Dennis-Yarmouth (6-1-1), who fell from the unbeaten ranks with a Saturday loss to the same Barnstable team.

A big 4-1 win over D1 Duxbury propels Norwell (9-2-0) up to #5. The Clippers host Bishop Stang (Wednesday) and Old Rochester (Saturday) this week.

#7 Natick (7-4-0) drops a bit after a pair of losses to Braintree (3-2) and Wellesley (5-0). They look to get back on the winning track this week against Brookline (Wednesday) and Weymouth (Saturday).

#8 Notre Dame Academy (5-4-1) was upended by Acton-Boxboro but rebounded for a 3-1 decision of King Philip. A Monday date with cross-town rival Hingham awaits Monday. NDA also takes on Matignon on Saturday.

A new #9 this week is Algonquin/Hudson (5-2-3). The T-Hawks blasted D1 St. Peter Marian Sunday (9-1), after a 6-0 blanking of Framingham earlier in the week. On the docket is a Friday contest with Franklin.

Dedham (5-3-1) remains solid in the #10 position after a solid win over Mansfield/OA/Foxboro.

TEAMS TO WATCH: Ursuline (10-1-1), Wakefield (6-3-3), Sandwich (7-3-0)
