There was some minor shuffling in this week’s installment of the HNIB News Massachusetts Girls Division 1 Top 10, including a new club at the top, and one new member. Not one team is in the same position as last week’s rankings.

Austin Prep (3-0-2) is back at #1 after a week that saw the Cougars post shutout wins over Winchester (3-0) and Archbishop Williams (9-0).  This week has AP taking on Matignon (Wednesday) and a non-leaguer Saturday vs Notre Dame Academy.

Undefeated Braintree (7-0-0) climbs one rung to #2, returning to action with a big win over Framingham. The Wamps, who have outscored their opponents this season by a 37-5 margin, have Bay State League games this week with Walpole (Wednesday) and Needham (Saturday).

#3 St. Mary’s (4-0-2) was just a few minutes away from another win Saturday, only to see Boston Latin score two late goals and forge a 2-2 tie. The deadlock comes after a solid week that saw the Spartans down Arlington (5-1) and Winthrop (6-1). St. Joseph Prep is up next this coming Saturday.

Hingham (5-1-0) slides up to #4, posting a win over Marshfield (7-1) in its only result of the week. The Harborwomen take on Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake (Wednesday) and Duxbury (Saturday) this week in a pair of league games.

#5 Arlington (4-1-1) drops a spot after week that saw the Spy Ponders fall to St. Mary’s (5-1), get tied late by Reading (3-3) and post a solid 5-1 win over previously unbeaten Woburn. An interesting battle looms Wednesday with a much-improved Lexington squad, followed by Winchester on Saturday.

#6 Longmeadow (5-0-2) has played two straight 3-3 ties with St. Peter Marian and Dennis-Yarmouth after starting the year with five straight victories. The Lancers have a busy week with Winthrop (Tuesday), St. Peter Marian (Friday) and Algonquin/Hudson (Saturday).

Defending champ Methuen/Tewksbury (2-1-2) is up one spot after posting wins over Franklin (3-2) and Acton-Boxboro (5-2). The Red Rangers will know a lot more about themselves after this week when they face Needham (Monday), Masconomet (Wednesday) and HPNA (Saturday), three teams with a combined record of 15-2-1.

Speaking of HPNA (5-0-1), coach Gary Kane’s club is #8, adding wins over Lincoln-Sudbury (4-2) and Westford Academy (4-1) to its resume.  They get Acton-Boxboro on Wednesday.

#9 Andover (2-1-3) also beat Lincoln-Sudbury 4-2 and had a 0-0 deadlock with Billerica/Chelmsford Saturday. The Warriors take on New Hampshire power Hanover (Wednesday), Westford (Thursday) and Acton-Boxboro (Saturday).

Boston Latin (3-1-2) makes its debut this week, coming off that satisfying tie with St. Mary’s. The Wolfpack have Wayland/Weston (Wednesday) and Lincoln-Sudbury (Saturday) this week.

TEAMS TO WATCH: Needham (4-1-0), Woburn (4-1-1), Reading (4-1-1), Peabody/Lynnfield/North Reading (6-2-0), Masconomet (6-1-0)
